At just 26kg and freshly turned two years old, the great big outside world holds so much for little Mina to learn about. There are some very wonderful things like meeting brand new humans to love, great sniffs, and very handsome boy dogs to kiss through fences - but sometimes it does get a little overwhelming on a walk and she might need a few treats or a reassuring lean from her foster brother to get moving. She is growing so much in confidence, and really draws on the example of other dogs to see things are not as scary as they first seem. Her current routine is a fifteen minute walk twice a day, but she’s not yet ready to toilet outside on a walk.
While Mina currently lives with a Great Dane, and would really love a canine sibling in her forever home to help with her confidence out walking, she needs a tolerant and patient match. Mina is a young dog full of enthusiasm, prone to bossy barking when she wants to play, and doesn’t quite grasp the concept of personal space; her foster brother doesn’t mind that she walks all over him (literally) and is more than happy to share all his things.
A securely fenced home is a must for Mina, don’t let her innocent face fool you - she is a door dasher extraordinaire. While she hasn’t shown signs of true escape artistry (no jumping fences or digging out, she can be trusted with a dog door to the yard if left alone) she is opportunistic and will bolt through any open gate or door. Luckily on the rare occasion she has gotten away from her foster home, Mina just takes herself off to visit her staffy boyfriend down the street - her recall might be a work in progress, but her love of a blocky headed lad makes her trajectory very predictable!
At such a young age, and still gaining the courage for longer walks and adventures outside, Mina needs a home where she has room to zoom and play and get her enrichment in. She adores her toys and will keep you occupied with her goofy antics tossing them, pouncing, and then curating a large collection in her bed to settle down in after a flurry of excitement. She is still learning what a toy is, and what a toy is not, and while soft toys and fluffy slippers are generally safe from her chomps - plastic items left lying around may find themselves victim to a little chew mark or two.
The only thing bigger than Mina’s quirky personality is her great big heart. She is the smoochiest and sweetest girl, whose foster carers jokingly refer to as “Pashmina” as she loves to be wrapped around you. She uses her delightfully fluffy neck to give hugs, and assumes any human getting down on her level is looking to receive affection.
From her big roaches, to her gorgeous face, her playful nature, to her super soft fur - there is so much to love about Mina, and a lucky forever home are going to get to watch her keep growing and learning for many years to come.
