Tara is a very trim sleek jet black girl with some grey highlights to give her a distinguished look appropriate for her age. However, nobody explained to Tara that a six year old lady is meant to be demure and elegant. She still thinks she is a kid and loves her new life with a chance to play games and has discovered toys.
Tara will not hesitate to show her affection and gratitude for the good life she has in foster care.
Tara can be insistent on getting the necessary cuddles and pats that she needs each day. Do expect a rapid response when you sit on the couch, in a flash, you will have a friend with her head resting on your shoulder eager to get tummy rubs, neck scritches and ear wiggles.
Tara is in foster care with a similar aged male greyhound. They get along very well but will usually do their own thing during the day. Tara has been very good with all dogs she has met. She may shy away from some boisterous ones on her walks but if they are calm and friendly she will happily stop to say hello.
Tara has settled well into her routine. Her foster carer works full time so she has a 30 minute morning walk and 45 minute walk after work. The after work walk takes a little longer as there are more people about and dogs to meet. Tara walks well with a loose lead.
During the working day Tara will just nap the 9 hours, sometimes in the bedroom or increasingly on the couch with Toby in the study. Tara has been tested totally home alone without Toby for up to 3 hours with little distress.
Tara will get very excited when you get home and show off some impressive dance moves. Then move into delighted zoomies.
Tara loves the car and her weekend excursions, however jumping in by herself is still a work in progress. She will usually sit down immediately and relax to enjoy the ride.
Tara has been very patient meeting children at our famers market and would be happy to share a home with children six and over. She has no noise sensitivity and would enjoy a busy home providing she has a break out space for some quiet when she needs it.
Tara is a secret pee-er and pooper. She rarely does any business on her walks preferring to toilet in her yard, even if she has just returned from a big walk. She will need an outdoor space for toileting.
