Tyson is the best of both worlds, a big beautiful boy on the outside and a sweet and playful pup inside! Having never raced, this young lad has maintained a glorious long puppyhood in which his curious nature and busy brain has been encouraged; not yet matured into his final couch potato form, this rambunctious and energetic companion will suit a more active home looking for a companion for adventures and play. However with the right combination of enrichment and exercise, he will happily show you his super snoozer mode!
Personal space? Tyson is unfamiliar with this concept. This sweet little snuggler loves to give and receive affection and has a very lapdog attitude despite his size. Tyson just adores his people and would prefer a home where people are around more often than not. He loves going to the office with his foster carer where he's a well-mannered colleague (so long as he’s had a good walk or play first), come 5pm though the carpeted corridors make an excellent zoomie zone!
During his time in foster care Tyson has lived both with a senior female greyhound and as an only dog - as he can be a bit clueless about personal space and respecting boundaries, he does best as an only dog.
Although he is coming along very well with his training, Tyson can still be jumpy and mouthy when he is excited (particularly people coming and going via the front door), and can be boisterous on the lead when he sees other dogs, after all he is still just a young lad filled with enthusiasm for life! A home without small animals, children, and elderly or frail adults would be best so that he doesn’t accidentally knock anyone over in his desire to love them at 110%.
Tyson is a smart boy who loves to learn; he knows several tricks (“up”, “down”, “spin”, “touch”, and “on your bed”), and loves training time - sometimes he is so happy to be showing off he will do a couple excited rears and joyful jumps - you’ll find yourself wondering if maybe he was a show pony in another life!
Although not your average low energy greyhound (just yet), Tyson’s perfect people will know that a little patience now will pay off in all the years to come. A lucky forever home will delight in these crazy days of youth where joyful playtime and silly antics reign!
HEALTH NOTE: Tyson has been diagnosed with a novel condition known as Paroxysmal Gluten-Sensitive Dyskinesia (PGSD), during a flare this can cause him temporary pain and limb weakness. His condition is effectively managed with a strictly gluten-free diet that he will need to remain on for life.
