“I decided to foster greyhounds to boost my future applications for other rescue dogs. I was expecting an extremely shut down and scared dog but instead ended up with a curious and outgoing foster dog who took everything into his stride. After three weeks and realising he’d soon be adopted, I asked to foster fail him instead. The rest is history.”
What inspired you to get involved with greyhound rescue and adoption?
I started going down to Gumtree Grey markets for the community aspect and eventually got involved in the social media team though the markets. I have a background in volunteering and advocacy work so becoming more involved with Gumtree Greys, especially as I learnt more about the atrocities of the racing industry, was a natural fit.
What's your role at Gumtree Greys?
I write the newsletters and dabble in the blog and socials.
What do you find most rewarding about helping greyhounds find their forever homes?
Knowing that while we may not be able to save every dog, we’re making a huge positive impact in the lives of individual dogs (and humans!)
