An introvert at heart, sweet Bella prefers a quiet life filled with the simple things - a cosy corner to nap, walks in nature, and a full toybox.
Although not a gregarious socialite with strangers, when Bella gets to know you she will show you her soft and affectionate side! Unobtrusive company, she will rest her head on you to politely request a scritch, and delights in a little snuggle when you come home but otherwise is happy to find a spot to curl up nearby to wherever you are and snooze away. The perfect companion for a relaxed weekend of watching movies or catching up on your reading, but not so much visits to the pub or the farmer’s market.
An unapologetic thief, Bella feels if you did not want her to have something, you shouldn’t have left it lying around. She loves to carry her treasures gently around the house, willingly parading your shoes, socks, and jumpers from room to room until finally curling up with them to sleep. She can always be convinced to relinquish these items (especially for a soft toy), but you’ll rarely find her without something special close by.
Growing in confidence every day, Bella loves her playtime and zoomies at home - she would thrive with a yard, and humans who can dedicate some time to tossing toys and encouraging her goofy games. Outside she still building up her bravery bank on walks, noisy streets and busy areas can be a bit overwhelming, she prefers her sniffaris in quiet parks and green spaces. Bella is curious and gentle with other dogs when on lead, and may benefit from a canine walking buddy to help demonstrate that it’s not so scary to explore when you have a confident friend by your side.
A cool cucumber about alone time, Bella is well behaved when home 9am-5pm while her humans head off to work. For a full day alone she does need a few enrichment activities and toys to ensure she doesn’t make her own fun, and access to a yard or a midday dog walker to toilet. Although she doesn’t mind staying behind, she will welcome you home at the end of the day with a big celebration, and happy teeth chitters to let you know she missed you!

GUMTREE GREYS ADOPTION PROCESS:
Step one submit our online application form, you can nominate a specific dog or express your interest generally
Step two a Coordinator will touch base via email to set up a phone call so we can get to know you a little better, and help to find your pawfect match
Step three once we have made a match we’ll reach out with the details, and to set up a meet and greet
Step four pending a successful meet, we will touch base via email with our Adoption Guide, any relevant handover notes, and a request to finalise payment of the adoption fee ($350) and sign our trial agreement
Step five start your two week adoption trial! On handover day we will drop off your previous cargo and their gear (collar, Gumtree Greys ID tag, lead, food, coat, and toy), you will also receive an email inviting you to ‘Petcademy’ (Gumtree Greys provides our adopters access to unlimited messaging with certified behaviour professionals and a library of over 100 hours of video content for training advice). During the trial period your Coordinator will touch base to see how things are progressing, and assist with any settling in issues. At the end of two weeks if the trial is successful you will sign your adoption agreement and we will complete the paperwork to transfer your dog into your name via the GRV Microchip Registry.
In the unlikely event a trial is not successful, we take the dog back into care and will refund your adoption feeStep six lifetime support and community access.
