Don’t be fooled by his striking blue and white colouring, our Marley actually moonlights as a shadow. As he has settled into foster care he has realised how wonderful it is to have the companionship of the people you love most, and he would much prefer to be involved in whatever you are up to as opposed to spend time alone.
Marley delights in the garden in his foster home. From inspecting the bushes, sniffing along the fence, burying treasures (his toys!), and standing in the sun - there is much to be done outdoors and he would very much prefer his forever home have a yard or outdoor area for his daily explorations.
A keen walker, Marley loves two long strolls a day, and loves to get off the beaten path (“off roading”!). Despite his larger size, he is very good on lead and never pulls - his foster carers are teaching him to stop and sniff more often, and he is taking to it well with encouragement. Although social and polite with other dogs, Marley isn’t much fussed by them and doesn’t seek out interactions or greetings, especially when outdoors.
Marley can be a bit of a food snob and shows strong preferences for particular textures and flavours, he will eat his dry food without complaints but is discerning about additional items (loves a handful of cooked chicken on top of his bikkies, deeply uninterested in beef mince). A health conscious hound, he adores a fresh apple.
An aspiring curator, Marley loves collecting oddities from his new life as a well loved pet (socks, cushions, small rugs, clothing, soft toys) and he will arrange them into a little nest for you to view! He is very gentle and will never chew these treasures, he is also happy to watch you return them to whence they came - although if at “Marley height” you might find them relocated once more.
The perfect fit for the pace of retired life or a quiet adult home, gentle Marley will blossom with people who appreciate he likes to take his time and let him go at his own pace. He will still entertain with daily indoors and outdoor zoomies but will snooze much of the day. He just needs those quality walks.
