After a few years racing, Nora’s reward for her performance on track was to be kept behind for breeding; she is finally ready to experience all the wonders that life as a well loved pet has to offer, and this happy-go-lucky girl has not stopped smiling since she set foot in foster care!
Here to bust a stereotype, this old dog is not only able to be taught new tricks, she’s an enthusiastic and whip smart learner. Nora would love a forever home with the patience for trick training or even scent work, she’s very intelligent and observant. We all have our vices though, and Nora is still working on her cue for not jumping when she is excited (she can’t help it, she’s just so full of joy that the bouncing sometimes takes over). Although she accepts she is not allowed in the human bed, and listens well about going to her own resting spot, she feels this is an ongoing conversation and will state her case every evening just in case her foster carer has changed her mind.
Nora thinks she is a lap dog, and will astound you with the contortions and lengths she will go to in order to be as close as physically possible. You used to own a couch, but once you adopt this sweet snugglebug you’ll find that it will be transformed into a “cuddle club” with your host, Nora! Watching TV, reading a book, catching up on some emails? Any activity is improved with a little brindle shadow by your side (or tucked into your armpit). Nora is so committed to ensuring you have all the companionship you need, that she has been known to drag her bed over to where you are so she has somewhere comfy to wait patiently for your adoration. She loves her humans so much that we feel she will thrive best in a home where they are around more often than not, being left alone full-time working hours is not her idea of a fun time - but with another dog for company she is able to do a day here and there as needed.
Taking apartment life in stride, Nora adapted well to the routine and is a very social and sweet girl who loves having so many neighbours to say hi to. She is polite, if a little bit excitable with other dogs on lead, doesn’t mind loud noises, copes fine with crowds, and is unbothered by the noise and activity of busy inner city suburbs.
From her beautiful nature to her beautiful brindle coat, Nora is sure to charm you from the moment you meet! It will be a very lucky forever home that get to welcome her to their family.
HEALTH NOTE: Nora entered foster care with two corns, and had a flexor tenotomy on 23 July which has resolved the condition. Nora also has experienced adverse reactions to both Nexguard and Drontal products

GUMTREE GREYS ADOPTION PROCESS:
Step one submit our online application form, you can nominate a specific dog or express your interest generally
Step two a Coordinator will touch base via email to set up a phone call so we can get to know you a little better, and help to find your pawfect match
Step three once we have made a match we’ll reach out with the details, and to set up a meet and greet
Step four pending a successful meet, we will touch base via email with our Adoption Guide, any relevant handover notes, and a request to finalise payment of the adoption fee ($350) and sign our trial agreement
Step five start your two week adoption trial! On handover day we will drop off your precious cargo and their gear (collar, Gumtree Greys ID tag, lead, food, coat, and toy), you will also receive an email inviting you to ‘Petcademy’ (Gumtree Greys provides our adopters access to unlimited messaging with certified behaviour professionals and a library of over 100 hours of video content for training advice). During the trial period your Coordinator will touch base to see how things are progressing, and assist with any settling in issues. At the end of two weeks if the trial is successful you will sign your adoption agreement and we will complete the paperwork to transfer your dog into your name via the GRV Microchip Registry.
In the unlikely event a trial is not successful, we take the dog back into care and will refund your adoption feeStep six lifetime support and community access.
