After a few years racing, Nora’s reward for her performance on track was to be kept behind for breeding; finally at seven years old she is ready to experience all the wonders that life as a well loved pet has to offer. This happy-go-lucky girl has not stopped smiling since she set foot in foster care!

Here to bust a stereotype, this old dog is not only able to be taught new tricks, she’s an enthusiastic and whip smart learner. Nora would love a forever home with the patience for trick training or even scent work, she’s very intelligent and observant. We all have our vices though, and Nora is still working on her cue for not jumping when she is excited (she can’t help it, she’s just so full of joy that the bouncing sometimes takes over). Although she accepts she is not allowed in the human bed, and listens well about going to her own resting spot, she feels this is an ongoing conversation and will state her case every evening just in case her foster carer has changed her mind.

Nora thinks she is a lap dog, and will astound you with the contortions and lengths she will go to in order to be as close as physically possible. You used to own a couch, but once you adopt this sweet snugglebug you’ll find that it will be transformed into a “cuddle club” with your host, Nora! Watching TV, reading a book, catching up on some emails? Any activity is improved with a little brindle shadow by your side (or tucked into your armpit). Nora is so committed to ensuring you have all the companionship you need, that she has been known to drag her bed over to where you are so she has somewhere comfy to wait for your attention. She loves her humans so much that we feel she will thrive best in a home where they are around more often than not, being left alone full-time working hours is not her idea of a fun time - but with another dog for company she might be able to do a day here and there as needed.

Currently living in an apartment, Nora had adapted well to the routine and is a very social and sweet girl who loves having so many neighbours to say hi to. She walks well on lead, and is used to four walks a day (two 1-2kms and then two short toilet breaks). She is polite, if a little bit excitable with other dogs on lead, doesn’t mind loud noises, copes fine with crowds, and takes the noise and activity from Whitten Oval in stride.

From her beautiful nature to her beautiful brindle coat, Nora is sure to charm you from the moment you meet! It will be a very lucky forever home that get to welcome her to their family.

Health condition note: Nora entered foster care with two corns, and had a flexor tenotomy on 23 July. Nora has an adverse reaction to both Nexguard and Drontal products
