Ru
A big lap dog
If Ru had a motto it would be "lapdog is an attitude, not a size" - this little lovebug lives to be held, and will even sneak up onto the couch beside her snoozing foster carer and slip herself into the little spoon position. If you need to engage in any floor based activities, expect Ru to be helping (and by that we mean she will come and stand directly over the top of you looking a little awkward until you give up and just hug her instead).
As a youngster, Ru has stamina for physical exercise and can go for walks of up to one hour or more, twice a day. She enjoys high intensity zoomies and play, and would suit a moderately active home who can keep up with her needs. She is a confident walker and isn't bothered by new noises or places, she enjoys just getting out and being with her people.
Ru prefers to socialise with calm and polite dogs she has had time to get to know and warm up to, she can be avoidant when out on leash and is not a gregarious social butterfly who will enjoy greeting lots of other dogs on walks. Face to face hellos can be confronting for her, and while she can get a bit freezey if another dog is fixating on her, she'll happily take space and just keep walking by with the guidance of her humans.
While Ru can do short stints (five hours or less) alone without fuss, she is not looking for a home with full-time working humans. She just absolutely adores being with her people, and is happy to tag along for any outings from shopping to cafe or pub dates - being by herself all day isn't very appealing. She loves to closely watch over her foster carers as they work from home, and will set herself up on her bed for the day, diligently relocating all her toys from the lounge room into the study, in case they may be needed.
Ru dreams of a home where she will be doted upon as a spoiled only child, she is not tested with children and would be best suited to a person or couple with the capacity to include her in their day to day. In return she promises to shower you in love and affection for the rest of her life.
Ru has recently had routine surgery to remove a corn and some grit from her paws so will ne wearign boots for the next couple of weeks.
