Being a gentleman of a certain age, Hawkeye is a chilled boy who loves the comfort of his home but also gentle adventures. He has come back into foster care for no fault of his own due to a change in circumstances in his original adopted home. We have been very pleased how well he has adapted to life in his new foster home.
Hawk likes his routine of two easy walks per day. He will perform his delighted kangaroo jumps when he can see you reach for the lead. His foster Mum works from home so he sometimes also gets a bonus 10 minute lunchtime stroll so they can both stretch and get some sunshine. Otherwise he will nap most of the day. Though, he will have time to two minute zoomies to prove there’s still some puppy spirit in his middle aged body. He will also enjoy some play time with his squeaky toys. His foster carers have commented that he is more vocal than the other greys they have had. He will happily voice his opinion whether that is a polite bark, a groan, sigh or an audible fart. He has feelings and happy to express them.
Hawk has managed to have a few hours home alone with no stress so would suit a working home but they would ensure he needs easy toilet access. He is happy as an only dog but his foster carers feel he would also be good with a suitable canine companion. He excelled at our recent Coburg Famers Market adoption stall. He was so polite and friendly with all the hounds humans he met and enjoyed the atmosphere. He did manage to happily nap with other fosters in the car during the day.
On his walks, Hawk has been doing well with short, loose lead wanking and had great interactions with calm and polite dogs but would rather avoid jumpy and yappy ones.
In the home he loves to hang out in his foster Dad’s music room. Hi likes the cosiness. Otherwise he will choose to sleep on his own bed in the living room or in the main bedroom overnight.
Hawkeye, with his lush brindle coat, deep affectionate eyes and easy going demeanour will add a warmth and a bit of cheekiness to any home lucky enough to adopt him.
